  1. Latest

Showdown Beta Update & Site Polish

    • The Showdown browser beta now runs a 211-card set.
    • Fixed a menu bug that could leave buttons invisible the first time the game booted.
    • Rewrote page titles and descriptions across the site, and added visible FAQ sections to the home and how-to-play pages.
    • Improved light-theme contrast on the home, roadmap, cards, factions, lore, store, and play pages.
    • Faster loading: six hero banners re-encoded 30–45% smaller, plus image sizing declared on roughly 30 images to cut layout shift.
  2. The Showdown Beta Rides In

    • Launched the Showdown client open beta at /play — instant duels against the Gunslinger AI, right in your browser. Free, no account, no download.
    • Added a branded launcher with a loading progress bar, fullscreen support, and a rotate hint for phones.
    • Redesigned the roadmap as a four-era frontier trail: Shipped, Riding Now, Next, and Down the Trail.
    • Polished the blog with loading skeletons, category color accents, read-time chips, and ornamental dividers.
    • Added Play to the site navigation and a new beta showcase with real gameplay screenshots on the home page.
  3. Frontier Redesign

    • Rolled out a site-wide frontier visual refresh — the updated design system now styles every page of the site.
  4. Rules, Deck Builder & Gallery Improvements

    • Fixed deck-out wins so the player who fails to draw now correctly loses the duel.
    • Added online rules, Sheriff and Deputy rules, physical-vs-online support notes, and a supported-keyword matrix to the how-to-play page.
    • Added card gallery deep links for faction, keyword, card type, and rarity filters.
    • Added saved-deck validation covering deck size, Deputy count, copy limits, faction count, and online legality.
