High Noon is getting a fresh hand: 104 new cards across eight factions, a new pencil-and-ink art pass, and a Card Forge built around the collection you already own. The updated card catalog is live on the website now. The Windows and Mac 1.5.0 release candidates are built; Steam distribution is the remaining release step.
Sketch lines, open paper, and 104 new cards
The artwork direction follows my own pen-and-pencil drawings: visible linework, expressive characters, and paper left open around the action. This pass refreshes 213 active-card portraits. The remaining cards keep their existing artwork.
The expansion adds 13 cards for each of eight factions. The full game catalog now contains 380 cards, including 12 tokens. The signed-in collection uses 319 definitions, of which 307 are collectible; some earlier practice and campaign cards remain outside that account pool. You can inspect the cards and their costs in the updated catalog.
Turn spare copies into the card you need
The new client's Card Forge recycles spare copies into Forge Dust and uses that Dust to craft cards. Starter copies and copies needed by saved decks are protected. Forge Dust is separate from Ore and the older Dust balance.
The online backend is deployed. Release checks covered an existing collection moving to the new catalog, pack opening, crafting, saving a deck with a new card, and refusing to recycle cards that deck needs. Retrying a completed pack or craft request does not charge again. Once an account upgrades, an older client will ask you to update before changing that collection.
Gold costs and rules that match the cards
This update includes a 29-card numeric balance pass and new cards that ask you to spend banked Gold alongside Mana. Balance testing is continuing; faction results still vary, so these changes are a first pass rather than a claim that every matchup is even.
Two rules fixes matter at the table. Straw Elf Rally now correctly recognizes the full faction name and applies its printed bonus. Venom now kills a creature when it deals positive damage, while a hit fully stopped by protection does not trigger it. The AI also accounts for those Venom trades.
What comes next
The desktop build also carries the updated Forge presentation and animation work. The next step is Steam distribution, followed by a gameplay trailer showing the finished update in motion. Visit High Noon on Steam for the public build and release announcements.
Higher Noon remains a possible name for a more ambitious desktop and console edition. Shared cards, rules, and account data are the direction; an Xbox release or cross-play support has not been announced. Mobile store releases also need their own platform validation and submissions.
Thanks for riding along.
